Last week Pat Sajak admitted to pounding back a few margaritas with Vanna White before Wheel of Fortune tapings. He wasn’t the first nor the last celebrity to be a little more than tipsy on TV. So who else has seemingly been sloshed on the small screen?
After pulling an all-nighter drinking lemoncellos with George Clooney, Danny was understandably a little bit off, to say the least, during his 2006 appearance on “The View.” During the taping, the inebriated actor insulted former President Bush by calling him “numb nuts” and even admitted he had sex with his wife all over the Lincoln Bedroom in the White House.
No one was too shocked when Sharon showed up to the UK X-Factor taping a little under the influence. Nothing seemed to get Sharon down as she sang, dance and cuddled up to fellow judge Simon Cowell throughout the filming, much to his displeasure.
The celebrated actor was visibly intoxicated during an interview with Quebecois TV host Anne-Marie Losique. Ben pulled the poor interviewer onto his lap before beginning to talk at length about her breasts. The clip also features some of the Good Will Hunting star’s bad (and quite offensive) impressions.
Apparently, Pat Sajak isn’t the only gameshow host to little a little sauce behind the scenes! Outtakes from a “Phone Jeopardy” commercial show Alex chugging what appears to be a beer and cursing.
It’s hard to pick any one clip showcasing Paula’s inebriation. Her brief Bravo series Hey Paula! could easily have been re-titled Hey Paula! You Need Help! as the series detailed Paula’s bizarre and seemingly intoxicated behavior. But the singer’s biggest drunken TV moment is probably her infamous interview with Q13 Fox News where Paula’s slurred speech and nonsensical responses immediately caused the video to go viral.
During a strange interview, the drunken Godfather of Soul either refused to answer questions or answered them in song. James apparently even forgot he was on live TV and began chatting with people offscreen. The worst part of it all? He was supposed to be there defending allegations that he had assaulted his wife!
During the short-lived reality show House of Carters, Nick Carter came home to find his younger brother Aaron throwing a party in the middle of the day. As punishment, Nick forced the wasted and underage Aaron to go grocery shopping. Aaron soon began to feel sick and curled up on the grocery store floor. Nick then carried Aaron piggyback style over to their car where he soon threw up out the door.
After playing Mini Me in the Austin Powers series, Verne is most known for making a series of weird noises and crashing his scooter while drunk on The Surreal Life and Big Brother.
It’s hard to tell when Tracy is drunk or just being Tracy, but while filming an interview on KVIA the 30 Rock star seemed heavily intoxicated. To the host’s surprise, Tracy took off his shirt and started tapping his stomach, claiming it was a “mating call.” The SNL funnyman also repeatedly declared that “somebody’s gonna get pregnant!” — a statement which has now become one of his character’s catchphrases on 30 Rock.
While publicists originally claimed the Full House star was jet-lagged, John has since admitted to being plastered during his infamous interview with Australian host Kerri-Anne Kennerly. During the taping, John insulted one of his critic’s genitalia, criticized the host’s outfit and even compared himself to Elvis Presley and Princess Diana. It’s no surprise that after this, all of John’s other Australian appearances were canceled.
