You just hand the coupons that you meticulously cut to the cashier right? Not if you’re looking to keep money in your pocket!
Big retail chains such as Wal-Mart do accept coupons; they also a lot of times have the smallest price that is consistently that price.
Consistently is the problem when it comes to coupon match-ups! Coupon match-ups mean you are taking your coupons and finding sales to correspond with it, this is how you are going to save money! Using coupons on full priced items is probably the biggest no-no in the couponing ball game!
Now where to shop in Cheyenne…
When it comes to couponing and saving money, I only consider three grocery stores; Safeway, King Soopers, and Albertsons. You can find amazing deals on certain items at places like Target, Walgreens, and other places that have a small amount of food items. I have found awesome deals at Walgreens on my favorite of Campbell’s soups! Since these have such multi-use and can be pricey, these types of deals can feel like stealing!
Safeway’s coupon policy is by far the most appealing on a daily basis to me! To Safeway, it’s not a promotion to double your coupons; it’s a way of life! They double any coupon up to .50, after that they will raise it to 1.00, capping it off there. You can only use one manufacturer’s coupon, but this means you CAN use it with store branded coupons, and also store sales! They also have an awesome 50% off rack, that’s restocked regularly, and you can use coupons on these items too! There are more things about Safeway to come soon and why those member cards need to be with you at all times!
Albertson’s is a nice store to shop in and this use to be my regular stop. There coupon policy is pretty redundant as far as it being anything other than ordinary. They have promotions that will double ANY coupon up to 1.00, unlike Safeway, it will double that 1.00 coupon up to 2.00! Like I said, these are promotional, and only happy a few times a year, but when they show up during the holidays, they are amazing on high cost spices and will help lower the cost for all the food you buy and plan on donating! Albertson’s will also accept any BOGO (Buy One, Get One Free) coupons from the manufactures on items that are also part of a weekly BOGO sale resulting in you receiving both items free! It is deals like this that keeping your eye on flyers is so important!
King Soopers can be the priciest place to shop in Cheyenne! I am in no way saying they do not have their share of deals or great coupons! Their coupon policy is almost identical to Safeway’s, as in they will double your coupon up to .50 and anything between .51 and .99 will be redeemed for 1.00! The only thing that I see about King Soopers, is it is impossible to create overage! Overage is when you have a coupon for more than the items value! Lets say you have a coupon for Crest Glide floss, many places it sells for a dollar, and you have a coupon for a dollar($1/1), this item would be free, but what if the item was on sale for .75? That would create .25 in overage, at other stores would be credited to you and go towards the rest of your bill. Not at King Soopers though, they will not refund anything that exceeds the COST of the product. Like Safeway, they also have those member cards that will come in handy!
Next, e-coupons and the grocery stores website used for your advantage!
Tip: Learn to not be brand dependant, this will help you find better deals, and actually open your eyes to new products that are just as good or maybe better then what you usually use!
