A $5,000 reward is being offered in Oakland for information leading to the arrest and conviction of an attempted sexual assault suspect.
According to Oakland police, a 36-year-old woman reported that she was walking in the 2000 block of 35th Avenue at about 11:15 a.m. on Thursday when the suspect approached. The victim told police the man forced her to the ground and tried to sexually assault her before she was able to pull away and run.
The suspect is described as being African-American, about 35 years old, 5’6” with a medium build and a clean-shaven face. He was wearing a black hooded jacket and black sweatpants at the time of the assault.
