Tweeting may not seem like much, but I have found it to be a great promotional tool that is easy to use and time efficient.
Moving right into the thick of things, my first trick for Twitter is to include a retweet link in each tweet. Any time I send out a specific tweet that I expect to gain attention, I always add retweet and then @ my Twitter name (RT @RunAfterRaina) at the end of each post. This helps me to see, in my Twitter feed, who has been sending out my originial tweet. It is important to know your reach, as it shows how many people are sharing your product/idea/etc. Hashtags are an important second part to this trick. If you want a tweet to be easily found simply had a hashtag in front of a keyword. For example, I use #Win on my giveaway tweets.
A second bit of advice I can give you if you are just starting out on Twitter, link it to your facebook! Linking can be done here, in just one simple step. I have a facebook fan page for my blog, and Facebook has made it so easy to link up with Twitter – there is no reason not to. My posts via my Facebook fan page are automatically posted into Twitter now, so I don’t even have to worry about tweeting my newest posts. It definitely is a time saver, and a great way to keep promoting yourself.
The great thing about Twitter, is that you usually gain as many followers as you follow. For example, most of the people I choose to follow will follow me back. Networking has never been easier!
Twitter is short, sweet, and to the point in 140 characters or less. I especially love the new Twitter design, as there are even more options to choose from to help share whatever it may be that you enjoy sharing.
