1 Corinthians 1: 10-12
I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our
Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with
one another so that there may be no divisions
among you and that you may be perfectly
united in mind and thought. 11My brothers,
some from Chloe’s household have informed
me that there are quarrels among you.
12What I mean is this: One of you says,
“I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”;
another, “I follow Cephasa”; still another,
“I follow Christ.”
13Is Christ divided?
There are many arguments in the USA
today about if we are a Christian nation
Lets take a look at this today and you
decide; are we or aren’t we a Christian
We have many sides to this argument.
We have Republicans and Democrats,
Catholics and Protestants, Religious and
Non Religious, We have multiple classes
of people All arguing over who should
and should not have what.
We pride ourselves on being the most
powerful nation on earth, the most blessed
nation on earth.
But how did we become so powerful and
Did we get this great power and blessing
by being a Christian nation.
In a round about way; yes we did.
In the early days of the USA before we
even officialy become a nation; we where
a people united in mind, heart, and goal.
We come here for religious freedom to
escape persecution in other countrys.
When we first come to the shores of this
continent we took care of each other and
made sure our brother and neighbor did
not go without.
We had no problem giving our everything
to see someone else flourish.
When GOD saw this; he blessed us and
made us a great nation.
Over the course of time we not only cared
for and nourished our own, but those in
other nations as well.
The more we done Christ’s work; the more
GOD blessed us and the greater he made us.
Yes we where a Christian nation.
But; somewhere along the line we got haughty
and and full of pride.
Look at us we said.
We are the greatest nation on earth, we have
blessings beyound any other nation.
We forgot that it was GOD who gave these
things to us for His glory.
We started thinking we made ourselves this way
and we started to get selfish.
Why should we share what we have with other
Why should we share what we worked for with
those lower classes in our own nation; let them
get jobs and earn their own we said.
We forgot how we got where we are and now if
we do not soon remember; we may soon be in
danger of falling as a nation since we forgot how
to be united as a nation.
Waylon and Willy said it best in their song “This
successful life were living got us feuding like the
Hatfields, and McCoys”.
Are we a Christian nation yet today; that is still
out for debate.
Where we a Christian nation at one time; Yes
We are still one of the greatest nations and most
blessed nations on Earth; but if we don’t soon
remember how we got here and start doing Christ’s
work once again.
If we dont get once again united as a nation.
If a kingdom is divided against itself, that
kingdom cannot stand. 25If a house is
divided against itself, that house cannot
