Ashley and JP fell in love last spring on The Bachelorette, and they are still happily engaged. Monday they did an interview together with Better TV, and they shared some fun tidbits. It seems that no topics were off-limits as Ashley Hebert and JP Rosenbaum talked about their wedding planning, their careers, life both on and off the show and a big upcoming move.
In their interview with Better TV, the lovebirds say they have not set a wedding date yet, but they know it will be within the next year. JP teases that the planning has started a tiny bit, but they have been focusing on a lot of other factors. Fans know that Ashley wrapped up her dental school studies in December, and she has a residency starting soon. Once those things are a bit more settled, the wedding planning will escalate.
Ashley and JP talk a bit about the reality of filming the show, and it is fun for fans to hear a bit about how they felt during the taping. Ashley says during filming she couldn’t get JP out of her mind, though she always tried to give the other guys a fair chance. As fans saw, Hong Kong was where things changed, and Ashley Hebert confirms that was the case. JP says he felt confident after their first date together that it could turn into something really good.
It’s always tough for the final picks to watch the season air, but fans know Ashley’s season of The Bachelorette was particularly tough with the Bentley Williams drama. JP says that the part that was incredibly tough for him was seeing Ashley bashed by viewers and the media, yet he had to stay quiet and couldn’t defend her. He says it was tough to see her build relationships with other guys, but he was always able to tell his spark with Ashley was special.
The two did a little quiz to see how well they know one another, and it is a fun thing for fans to watch. They also broke the news that they are planning a move right now, despite loving the apartment they recently put together in NYC. Ashley is starting a pediatric residency in Philadelphia this summer, but of course JP is working on a huge construction project in Nassau County. Rather than live separately, they will be moving somewhere in the middle where they can both commute.
Ashley said they may pick somewhere such as New Jersey for now, but JP added that they have a bit of time before things have to be in place and they are working on the details now. Fans know that Ashley commuted between Philadelphia and NYC for several months as she wrapped up school, and it was a grueling schedule. While they both love the city, for now living in-between Philly and New York City seems to be the most practical plan. Most of all, Ashley and JP are clearly still very much in love and just as adorable as ever.
Will Emily Maynard be able to find a best friend and partner like Ashley did? Season 8 of The Bachelorette will begin filming mid-March, with a premiere in late May. In the meantime, fans are watching Ben Flajnik as he gets closer to doling out his final rose on ABC’s The Bachelor 2012. It will be hard to top the love story fans got with Ashley and JP, but they’ll tune in to see what happens.
