So it has been over a year since I last published an article. Sorry for the down time but it has been a year full of events. Let’s dive right into this new year and new set of articles.
Over the past few weeks we have seen several big events. One being the shut down of big illegal mass download sites. On these sites you can download any illegal song or program that they have on their server. While this is illegal it has taken the government several years to be able to find and work with other governments to shut down and bring these people to justice. While I think people should be able to use file sharing services I do belive in paying for what you get.
If you are looking to be able to download music, and other files, there are sites, and programs that you can use to be able to download files cheaply and legal. Sites like Rhapsody, AOL, and other sites allow you to download songs for a small price, and stream music. Streaming music allows you to listen but not download music. If you still use a per MB or GB connection to the Internet watch how much you stream. It can build up and you could end up paying a lot more then you think.
Kodak just said that they have filed for bankruptcy protection and will no longer be making cameras. As of the writing of this article Kodak has been around for about 130 years. Wow I could only hope that my business is around for even 25 years let alone 130 years. With this said people who have kodak cameras will not be able to buy any further cameras. Kodak is phasing out their line up of cameras. So what is one to do about getting a replacement camera? Follow these steps to finding your next great camera.
- Look for a camera with good Mega Pixels (MP). With cameras now a days you should be at least around 10-16 MP. Anything less and you will have to be buying a new camera, just to be able to keep up.
- The second biggest feature is do you want it to be able to put in your pocket or do you want a DSLR. A DSLR is nice camera for the money ($700 on up), but for the features you can’t beat it. You will be able to switch lenses, and add flashes. The pocket versions are good cameras too but you will not be able to attach a flash or switch lenses.
- The third one is memory. The pocket cameras, use a SD card for it’s memory. The DSLR cameras, use a CF card. The SD cards are cheaper and you can find them with bigger memory on them. The CF cards are going to be more and hold less, but you will get a faster response from the camera and memory card.
- For the last item here is additional features. Some of the new pocket cameras have features like built in WiFi, the ablity to use higher capacity memory cards.
If there are subjects or articles that you would like to see please email me and I will try to add it to the list over the coming months.
