Boston Metro North covers the North Shore, Merrimack Valley and Northwest Suberbs:
Another beautiful January day on Saturday in the local area, as the winter that isn’t continues. High temperatures generally climbed to the low and mid 40’s during the afternoon, under partly cloudy skies. With January coming to a close soon, it also will go down as a month with above average temperatures, which follows the pattern going all the way back to September. On Saturday the thermometer ran close to 10 degrees above the seasonal average.
We have another pretty nice day coming up for Sunday. For you snow lovers all I can say is if you need a snow fix, head north to the mountains. Other than the chance for a few snow flurries or snow showers Sunday night, there is no snow threat during the next several days. And, no significant cold is on the horizon.
5 Day Outlook:
The dry cold front that moved through overnight is now pushing offshore, as high pressure follows in its wake. Another fine day is anticipated Sunday with above normal temperatures and a good amount of sunshine…Tonight brings another cold front, associated with low pressure moving well to our north. A few snow showers or flurries may accompany this front. Some communities could get a coating of snow by morning.
Fair weather and cooler temperatures start the work week, before temperatures warm up again by Wednesday. This due to a warm front that approaches later Tuesday and Wednesday. Showers of either rain or snow might be here later Tuesday, with rain showers Wednesday a possibility.
