High pressure over Ohio this morning, will drift east into Pennsylvania this afternoon. Sunny to partly cloudy skies can be expected across the Erie area today. Highs today will be in the mid 30s.
A storm developing in the Plains states will head toward the Ohio Valley and Great Lakes tonight. Clouds in advance of this system will overspread the area this evening, with rain to follow after midnight. The rain could be mixed with wet snow or sleet. Lows in Erie will drop to the low 30s early tonight, then slowly rise overnight.
On Wednesday, low pressure will move through the Great Lakes and into Ontario. A warm front will lift north toward the area bringing some milder air with it. Temperatures will rise to the upper 40s in the Erie area with showers and thunderstorms expected.
A cold front will sweep across the area Wednesday evening with showers gradually tapering off. A few showers will linger through Thursday morning before ending as drier air spreads across the region. Highs Thursday will be in the low 40s.
