The latest round of perpetual Muslim outrage and ingratitude involves the seizure and dispoal of Korans [apparently paid for by U.S. taxpayers] at an Afghanistan jail, following a situation in which, according to Andrew McCarthy, “jihadists imprisoned there were using them not for prayer but to communicate incendiary messages.”
As McCarthy wrote: “The soldiers dispatched to burn refuse from the jail were not the officials who had seized the books, had no idea they were burning Korans, and tried desperately to retrieve the books when the situation was brought to their attention.”
Numerous riots, corpses and casualty-causing attacks on U.S. troops (there of course to protect and help build Afghanistan) later, Barack Obama has issued an apology (not necessarily on behalf of the American people): “I wish to express my deep regret for the reported incident. . . . I extend to you and the Afghani people my sincere apologies.”
Like Presidential candidate and former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum had previously, Congressman Lt. Col. Allen West (R-FL) has now registered his displeasure with Obama’s embarrassingly excessive kowtowing in this instance.
(Congressman West has, of course, not become a hero to many patriotic, taxpaying Americans because he tends not to walk on eggshells. In the last few weeks, he has scolded Michelle Obama about her attempts to interfere with what military personnel are permitted to eat, as well as giving a blunt speech on the House floor about the actual, unwhitewashed history of Black History, the Republican Party, the Democrat Party and the Ku Klux Klan.)
In any case, the following is the message the South Florida Congressman put on his Facebook page, at 10:50 AM this morning:
I want to extend my sincere condolences to the families of the Army Colonel and Major who were killed by Afghanistan security forces over this “burning Koran” episode.
If we had resolute leadership in the White House, we would have explained that these Islamic terrorist enemy combatants detained at the Parwan facility used the Koran to write jihadist messages to pass to others.
In doing so, they violated their own cultural practice and defiled the Koran and turned the Koran into contraband.
The Islamic cultural practice and Parwan detention facility procedures support burning the “contraband.”
Instead here we go again, offering apology after apology and promising to “hold those responsible accountable.” Responsible for what?
When tolerance becomes a one-way street it leads to cultural suicide.
This time it immediately led to the deaths of two American Warriors.
America is awaiting the apology from President Hamid Karzai.
