On March 24th, 2012 Historic Downtown Sanford Florida will host its 1st annual Pints N’ Paws, a Craft Beer Festival with 50% of proceeds benefitting local pet rescue organizations, SPCA of Central Florida and Pet Rescue by Judy.
Local merchants of West End Trading Co., Little Fish Huge Pond, The Palette Cafe’, and Sanford Wine Company joined together to create a festival for those who enjoy a good craft beer and for a chance to educate the community on proper animal care, prevention of pet over-population through low-cost spay and neuter programs which in turn, prevents euthanasia.
A craft beer by definition, is one brewed by a brewery which “produces a limited amount of beer and is associated by consumers with innovation and uniqueness; small, independent and traditional”; this definition, a one of many, was provided by Wikipedia. Abita, Jail House Brewing, Shiner Speciality Beers, Kona Brewing Co. are just some of the microbrewers in the spotlight at the festival.
