Three Dallas ISD schools are among the 26 Texas schools nominated for the 2012 Blue Ribbon Schools recognition. This award began in 1982 and awards schools for one of two reasons – either student performance is improving significantly or the schools rate in the top ten percent on the state’s standardized tests. Since the program began, over 500 Texas schools have been honored.

Announcement of winners will be made in September, 2012. Schools that receive the award will be recognized in Washington, D.C.
