Known for his outspoken and combative ways, UFC President Dana White launched a war against internet hackers that took over the UFC.com website last week and re-routed it to UGNazi.com labeling them terrorists and daring them to launch another attack on the site during last Thursday’s press conference in Chicago to promote tonight’s “UFC on Fox 2” card.
The hackers happily obliged.
But instead of targeting the UFC website, UGNazi.com diverted their attention at White himself.
“@danawhite We don’t want your site anymore. We are going after YOU! Follow me for tonights exciting events! #ufc #sopa #acta #pipa,” tweeted @joshthgod who is claiming responsibility for the attack on the UFC site and White.
Hackers claim that their motives are to protest the UFC’s support of the SOPA and PIPA bills and create awareness. They did so by posting what they claim to be White’s social security number, home address, phone numbers and other sensitive personal info.
White stated that the attacks will only prompt politicians regarding the importance of the issue and dared the hackers saying that he is not afraid of the Internet and further taunted that it’s where cowards live.
White’s cutthroat ways may be effective against the toughest of men under contract with his company and aspirants trying to get into the UFC through The Ultimate Fighter show, but it is yet to be proven against nameless and anonymous computer wizards.
This in itself, is a battle worth tuning into.
John G. – Indianapolis, IN – “Dana White is just a greedy person. He needs to leave SOPA alone. He better not have any hidden videos with the ring girls, if you know what I mean?”
Shawn B. – Greenwood, IN – “I don’t care about hackers as long as ‘Shad wins. Phil Davis is going down!”
