Break out your dancing shoes, folks — or at least the popcorn, because Dancing with the Stars is back for its 14th season and the cast definitely does not disappoint.
It seems as though the show has gotten better and better throughout the years. No more random soap opera stars or washed up actors — OK, maybe just a few — but the level of “celebrity” just keeps getting higher and higher.
First the not-so-fabulous…
Jack Wagner will be dancing with the ever-so-adorable Anna Trebunkskaya. Wagner is the resident soap opera star. He’s also familiar with the tabloids as he was once engaged to the lovely Heather Locklear.
Next up we have Melissa Gilbert — here is part one of the washed up actors. She was on Little House on the Praire, yes, remember that show? She will be partnered up with the gorgeous Maksim Chmerkovskiy. I wonder if his temper will peak out… again.
The resident football guy who will start off with two left feet but finish the season dancing like a floating angel for 2012 will be Donald Driver of the Green Bay Packers. He will be dancing with Peta Murgatroyd.
Ladies, they didn’t forget about you. The gorgeous hunk of a man who starred in Jennifer Lopez’s I’m Into You music video and stirred up those rumors about the two running off together — William Levy — will be partnered with Cheryl Burke.
Day time talk show host of this season will be The View’s Sherri Shepard — no jokes here, folks. She will be dancing with Val Chmerkovskiy.
The resident “who?” “celebrity” will be Katherine Jenkins. There isn’t much to say here, but she is a singer. Perfect, because she will be partnered with wannabe musician Mark Ballas.
Finally, a name we can all recognize. Singer/songwriter Gavin DeGraw will be dancing with the ever-so-fabulous Karina Smirfnoff — whatever happened to her engagement?
The other sports star of the season is Martina Navratilova. She plays tennis — or something. She will be dancing with Tony Dovolani.
Hey kids, there’s something for you too. Roshan Fegan of Disney Channel’s Shake It Up will be shaking it up with Chelsie Hightower.
Boys, no one forgot about you. Darling Maria Menounos — Extra host, formerly of Access Hollywood — will be dancing with cutie patootie Derek Hough.
But wait! There’s more…
Next up is Steve Urkel — I mean, Jaleel White. Now you know his partner Kym Johnson will eventually make him dance in his infamous nerd get up. It’s just bound to happen and in all honesty, it would be disappointing if it didn’t.
Finally, a name that resonates with just about everyone with a pair of ear drums. Ms. Gladys Knight takes the cake as most famous name on the 14th season. She will be partnered with Tristan McManus.
There you have it, folks. A star-studded cast — OK, so a star-sprinkled cast. But hey, DWTS never seems to disappoint with random faintings and wardrobe malfunctions. So, tune in for the premiere on March 19.
