The Dancing with the Stars celebrity cast and pro-dancer line-up for the season 14 was announced live on Good Morning America on Tuesday, February 28, 2012. The announcement was made on ABC’s Good Morning America by Dancing with the Stars hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke-Charvet.
Dancing with the Stars premieres 14th season
Dancing with the Stars opens with a two hour premiere on Monday, March 19, 2012 (8:00-10:01 p.m. ET) on the ABC Television Network. The Dancing with the Stars live results show premieres during week two, on March 27, when the first elimination will be announced.
The 12 celebrities, with their professional partners, heading to the dance floor this season are:
Musician Gavin DeGraw (In Love with a Girl, Not Over You) will be partnered with last season’s champ Karina Smirnoff (J.R. Martinez wins DWTS Mirror Ball trophy), who is returning for her 11th season.
Donald Driver who overcame a childhood of homelessness and obstacles to become a Super Bowl champion, and the All-Time Leading Receiver in Green Bay Packers history, will be partnered with Peta Murgatroyd, who is returning for her second season as a professional partner.
Musical artist Roshon Fegan (Disney’s Shake It Up, Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam) teams with Chelsie Hightower, who is returning for her 6th season.
Actress Melissa Gilbert (Little House on the Prairie, The Miracle Worker, A Christmas Pageant on Hallmark) partners with Maksim Chmerkovskiy , who returns for his 12th season.
Singer Katherina Jenkins, the world’s most prolific classical crossover artist, joins two-time champ Mark Ballas, who is returning for his 10th season.
Eight-time Grammy winner Gladys Knight (Gladys Knight & The Pips) partners with Tristan McManus, who returns as a professional partner for his second season.
Cuban born Latin actor William Levy partners with two-time champ Cheryl Burke, who returns for her 13th season.
Maria Menounos, actress, author and the host of EXTRA, partners with three-time champ Derek Hough, who is returning for his 9th season.
Tennis champion Martina Navratilova teams with Tony Dovolani, who returns for a 13th season.
Actress, comedian and co-host of The View, Sherri Shepherd (One for the Money a comedy) partners with Val Chmerkovskiy, who is returning for his second season as a professional partner.
Soap star/singer Jack Wagner (General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful) joins Anna Trebunskaya, who is returning for her ninth season.
Actor Jaleel White (Steve Urkel/Stefan Urquelle on ABC’s long-running series, Family Matters) teams with two-time champ Kym Johnson, who returns for her 11th season.
This season of Dancing with the Stars will see the return of Macy’s Stars of Dance to the Dancing with the Stars the Results Show.
Returning this season will be the “AT&T Spotlight Performance,” which features and celebrates people whose lives have been changed forever by dance. AT&T is also helping the search to find these performers by allowing fans to nominate potential dancers.
