A Fayetteville man surrendered Saturday, a day after police said he stabbed his wife to death and fled their home.
Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies charged Mr. Jesus Ojeda Jimenez, 34, with murder in the death of Ms. Liliana Ruiz, 30, the sheriff’s spokesman Mr. Brent Rowan said.
On Friday, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call at a home on Greenview Circle in north Fayette County, Mr. Rowan said. When the deputies arrived, they found Ms. Ruiz’ body.
An eyewitness told deputies that the suspect fled to a nearby home. But after deputies and other local law enforcement officers established a perimeter around home and entered it, they discovered the suspect was gone, Mr. Rowan said.
Mr. Jimenez turned himself in at the Fayette County Jail.
Investigators did not provide a motive for the stabbing and it was unclear if deputies have ever responded to the home before.
