Onetime “So You Think You Can Dance” choreographer Alex Da Silva is going to be spending the next ten years with a prison sentence to his name following a string of felony charges.
On Friday, the performer was sentenced after being first arrested back in 2009. He was accused of raping and assaulting as many as four women, including some former students. (He was convicted on just one count of rape and one count of assault with intention to commit rape — the other charges were dismissed thanks to a jury deadlock.)
Da Silva choreographed many famous dancers over the years, but during his run on the Fox show he was assigned to help such people as current “Dancing with the Stars” performer Chelsie Hightower. His ties with the Fox series were severed following its fourth season.
