The Rochester Knighthawks (1-2) will take on the Colorado Mammoth (3-0) tonight as they look to snap a two game losing streak. The game will be the first time that the Knighthawks have had to face John Grant Jr. since trading him to the Mammoth last year. Grant is red hot this season as he is currently averaging a ridiculous ten points per game. Will the Knighthawks be able to contain him?
Rochester has dropped their past two games having lost to the Toronto Rock last night. It was a hard-fought game which was close until the fourth quarter when Toronto scored six straight goals. Rochester lost to Buffalo in a similar fashion last week as well when the Bandits scored four straight in the fourth quarter. Colorado currently leads the league in goals scored with 46 so the K-Hawk defense will have their work cut out for them.
Colorado already has an advantage going into the game since Rochester played last night, they may end up getting tired as the game draws on. When you couple this fact with the team’s recent fourth quarter struggles, the final quarter could end up being what decides this game.
While John Grant leads the NLL in points with 30 (13G + 17 A), Cody Jamieson is right behind him in second with 22 (11G + 11A). It will be interesting to see who can come out on top in this matchup.
The game is scheduled to begin at 9:00 PM Eastern. Last night’s game against Toronto was “blacked out” on the NLL Network since it was being broadcast on ESPN3, which was disappointing for fans who weren’t able to watch it, but tonight’s game should be viewable online on the Rochester Knighthawks Livestream page.
