It’s inevitable that people compare these two shows. These are the two shows that have the staying power absent in other shows such as ‘Paranormal State‘ and ‘Paranormal Cops‘.
Both shows used similar instruments to investigate, however, ‘Ghost Adventures‘ continues to search for and use new types of scientific apparatus.
‘Ghost Hunters‘ started out doing a lot of investigations on individual homes, especially if children were involved. They soon started investigating locations that were already investigated by many groups before them. This year the GH team is trying to even out their investigations to include both private residences and public places.
‘Ghost Adventures‘ have never really investigated a private residence as far as I know. Zak, Nick and Aaron started out with some of the scariest places on earth such as the Washoe Club in Virginia City, NV and the Goldfield Hotel, also in Nevada.
Here’s where the big split has always been, ‘Ghost Hunters‘ very rarely even mentions the ‘D’ word, Demon. The guys on GA say it may 20 times per show.
However, what I’ve notice this brand new season on ‘Ghost Hunters‘, the GH group seem to be going after darker haunts. They did a house last week that had a supposedly dark haunt and this week they did an interesting show, interesting because it is a place that GA has already done. It was the Hales Bar Marina and Dam. GA found some great evidence and did come to the conclusion that there was ‘dark’ activity there. GH found a lot of evidence but didn’t make the jump to a dark haunt during their reveal.
To bottom line this comparison, ‘Ghost Hunters’ is a mild ghost investigation show that rarely finds darkness, because they don’t invoke it as the GA team does. Invoking raises the chances of finding a dark entity.
‘Ghost Adventures’ is a rock ‘n roll show featuring three great guys who hunt by themselves and find darkness everywhere. They aren’t afraid to be funny nor are they afraid to find the spirits, dark or light.
‘Ghost Hunters‘ is a more family friendly show. Jason, Grant and team often bring family members and Jason’s dog to investigations.
Both shows have their merit which is why both shows are still on the air.
In Las Vegas you can catch ‘Ghost Adventures‘ on the Travel Channel Cox Cable channel 47. The three team members from GA also live in Las Vegas and often investigation locally in southern Nevada.
You can watch ‘Ghost Hunters‘ on the SyFy channel which is Cox channel 45.
