ABC News Balitmore reports that Giant and Martin’s food stores have announced a recall of several Aunt Jemima frozen pancake products. The affected products are believed to have been contaminated with soy, which is an undeclared allergen.
The varieties affected by the recall are:
- Aunt Jemima Buttermilk Pancakes,
- Aunt Jemima Low Fat Buttermilk Pancakes,
- Aunt Jemima Oatmeal Pancakes,
- Aunt Jemima Homestyle Pancakes,
- Aunt Jemima Confetti Pancakes,
- and Aunt Jemima Whole Grain Pancakes.
The products in question all have a use by date between November 1, 2011 through October 16, 2012.
No reports of illness from consumption of these products has been reported. The pancakes are safe to eat for individuals who are not allergic to soy.
