Cassandra is a NYC-based artist who continues to impress. Here is an update on her latest activities for her existing fanbase.
Fans of the diva-esque song, Just Being Myself, will be excited to learn that she is reshooting the video. She felt that in the first video she failed to convey the whimsy and quirkiness that the song represented to her. Fans should expect to see it on her new website. Dates for both TBA. She has a new album due; hopefully in time for her performance at Cafe Vivaldi on April 12. Songs already familiar to fans, such as Windblown Girl and Just Being Myself, are sure to be on the album. The artist is keeping the rest of the track list close to the vest but there is a decent chance that at least some of the songs she regularly performs live in clubs will make the final cut.
In a coup that we can all be envious of, Cassandra has recently cowritten a song called No Hard Feelings with none other than music legend Billy Joel! Her live debut performance of this song was at Cafe Vivaldi on Jones St. in Manhattan on Dec 2, 2011.

What follows is biographic information about Cassandra for those who may not have the privelege of knowing more about her.
Cassandra Kubinksi grew up in Enfield, CT. She performed theatrical shows in her neighborhood when she was a child, and by age 13 she was seriously pursuing musical theater. When she studied at Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL, she began writing songs more seriously. By the age of 20, she moved to NYC and realized that songwriting and performing was her calling. While she spent nearly a year living in the music mecca of Nashville, TN, she has moved permanently to New York City.
Cassandra is a singer/songwriter who possesses a rare gift to speak honestly through her music. Her performances always include a repertoire with the audience, eliciting enjoyment and laughter. Trained in theater, she truly entertains while she plays. Her stage persona goes hand in hand with her philosophy of songwriting. Cassandra says she ‘writes and produces music based on an environment and mood that [she wants] to create.’ She also spoke about how important it was to show all sides of herself through her music. A consistent aspect of her composition, regardless of tone, is telling stories with her songs. Cassandra sees herself carrying on the tradition of pop stars such as Billy Joel from the 1970s. She also feels that one cannot succeed without risk. ‘The greatest risk and the greatest reward come from showing all of oneself, and not being afraid to let people judge.’
Cassandra has given performances all over the NYC area. She has acted in a movie in which she has writing credits (Clear Blue Tuesday), written songs for others (such as Cabaret performer Kenneth Gartman), released several albums and recorded several videos (see her website here).
Beautiful, deep, caring and driven – Cassandra captivates the mind. She is still one to watch.
