The number one internet search engine Google has said that it will be going on the same route as Twitter and will start country-specific censorship of the content on its search engine.
This has attracted a lot of criticism from around the world as Google is generally seen as a company that supports free speech and free access to information from all countries. Critics are saying that the move shows that internet firms are giving in to every whim of authoritarian regimes from around the world.
There may be a few good things to happen out of this though. MOST of the viruses and internet credit card scams originate from countries other than the US. As do trojans, and other worms that attack innocent internet users computers, sometimes comprimising important systems for businesses even!
Everyone has a different opinion on what they think they Google should do, however only the CEO and other “bigwigs’ of Google will be the ones to determine what will be done in the future with their company.
