A Place in the Sun is a yaoi anthology by Lala Takemiya. Dustbin Space deals with a garbage collector and a young man who has a hard time dealing with the job’s rules and schedules. My Manga Sensei deals with a young man who writes to his favorite manga sensei about his cursh and gets a surprising reaction. The title story deals with the main character reminiscing about his co-worker, who left the company they worked at for ‘A Place in the Sun’.
The artwork is pretty good and fits the tone of the stories. The one that sticks out the most is Dustbin Space. Some of the most enjoyable parts are the methods for handling different types of garbage. It would be quite nice if the author wrote a yaoi series that has a main character working at a job that’s considered unglamorous by the general populace like a janitor or a temp worker. It would be interesting to see more sci-fi or fantasy yaoi from the author. Honolulu yaoi fans will find this a light, easy read.
