Howard Stern says that if he had been the victim of Sacha Baron Cohen‘s Oscars red carpet prank, ‘The Dictator’ actor would have ended up with a broken nose.
Cohen, who has made a career out of pulling outrageous pranks, showed up at the 2012 Academy Awards in full dictatorial costume, flanked by hot ladies in military minidresses and carrying an urn bearing a picture of recently deceased North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il. While he being interviewed by E! News shmoozer Ryan Seacrest on live TV, Cohen dumped the urn of “ashes” all over Seacrest’s flawlessly tailored tuxedo.

Howard Stern is a huge Sacha Baron Cohen fan, but gave the prank the thumbs down during his Oscars review on Tuesday:
“If any guy did that to me, I would just punch him so hard in the nose that his nose would break…You know how much I love Sacha Baron Cohen, but I don’t like when somebody dumps stuff on someone…I felt a little bad…I know what I would have done…You know I’m no fan of Ryan Seacrest, but I have no sense of humor about that when it’s done to me…I just know how I’d react. I’d would take my fist…because, as long as we’re doing stuff out of nowhere…’Here’s a funny bit. I’m going to break your nose and knock you out.”
Seacrest was visibly irritated by being selected as Cohen’s “mark”. Shortly after the incident he tweeted:
“My mom always told me to pack two jackets for red carpets, always wondered why. Now I know.”
