The rescue groups and animal care facilities throughout San Diego County are winding down their participation in the Iams Home 4 the Holidays Adoption Drive.
The IH4TH promotion concludes tomorrow, January 3rd. Although the goal of 1.5 million orphan pet adoptions worldwide has not quite been met, so far 1,074,532 animals have found their forever homes.
The goal of 4000 participating shelters and rescue groups was met and slightly exceeded.
Over a million adoptions from over 4000 participants – this adoption drive works!
We want to extend a big thank you to all of the families and individuals who opened their hearts and homes to a homeless pet. The follow up stories and photos of the successful adoptions are truly heart warming.
Perhaps you did not have time during the holiday rush to think about adding a new furry member to your family. As you look forward to the New Year, start setting goals and making resolutions, perhaps you can see where a new cat or kitten would fit in perfectly in your life.
It is not too late to help everyone involved with IH4TH to achieve their goal for this years adoption drive. There are hundreds of homeless felines waiting for someone like you to come meet them, fall in love and take them home.
Go to one of the following participating groups and meet your feline match:
- Borrego Animal Rescue, Borrego Springs
- Camp Pendleton Animal Control, Camp Pendleton
- Loving Arms Animal Rescue & Adoption, Chula Vista
- Coronado Animal Care Facility, Coronado
- Shelter Pet Partners, El Cajon
- Friends of Cats, El Cajon
- El Cajon Animal Shelter, El Cajon
- Escondido Humane Society, Escondido
- Helen Woodward Animal Center, Rancho Santa Fe
- County of San Diego Department of Animal Services, San Diego
- United Hope for Animals, San Diego

As the holiday season and the IH4TH campaign winds down, you still have time to save a life and at the same time enrich your life.

Visit the Iams FaceBook page to find a potential pet or look for other ways to get involved
We’re asking consumers to help us donate a total of 5 million meals through the Bags 4 Bowls program. For every specially marked package of Iams dog or cat food purchased during the campaign Iams will make a donation of one bowl of food for each bag purchased to a shelter in need. Consumers can also visit the Iams Facebook page and “Like” the page itself, various messages, photos, videos, etc. and in return Iams will donate up to 100 meals per “Like” or comment to feed orphaned animals.
Everyone who adopts through the program will receive helpful information to help prepare them for their new furry family member, including: coupons for great savings on pet food and other pet-related products, and tips and information ranging from training to pet care and nutrition
