India successfully chased an astonishing score of 321 runs in just 36.4 overs against Sri Lanka in the CB series match at Hobart on Tuesday.
India beat Sri Lanka by seven wickets with 80 balls to spare in a do-or-die match. With this win, India also got a bonus point and are now tied on 20 points with Sri Lanka. See final scorecard
Now Sri Lanka must defeat Australia in their last league game on Thursday if they want to reach the final of the Commonwealth Bank series.
After winning the toss, India put Sri Lanka into bat first, Sri Lanka did very well to score a mammoth 320 runs in their alloted 50 overs.
India needed to score 321 runs in less than 40 overs to overtake Sri Lanka in terms of run rate and keep their hopes of reaching the finals. Watch the highlights.
Gautam Gambhir and Suresh Raina scored 63 runs and 40 runs respectively.

For Sri Lanka, T Dilshan scored 160 runs while Sangakkara scored 105 runs in 87 balls.
Virat Kohli said after recieving the man of the match award, “To be able to chase 320 in 40 overs in a must win game, and put that sort of a batting effort together was a great team effort.”
“I committed a few mistakes in the last games after getting to 20 and 30, trying to middle every ball, which doesn’t happen always in international cricket. This shows our character as a team, and how well we can execute our plans. It is about working hard and sticking in there. We will be rooting for Australia in Friday. This is a special feeling, probably my best one-day innings so far.”
