Just imagine for a second you are reading an article on election fraud in Russia or even Turkey and you’re skimming through and see that their government authorities’ deemed “security” an issue and had to count the ballot boxes “behind closed doors” –
Don’t worry, we can relate. Especially when Putin or the ruling party remains in control. Silly Russians and their voter fraud, we‘d think to ourselves, they aren’t civilized and proper like us Americans. Yet that is what is happening in Iowa. They recently announced they would be tallying the final count in a secret undisclosed location of tomorrow’s caucus results.
Wait – what? Don’t worry says ‘Watch The Vote’ a non-partisan group that maintains Iowa is the last truly free and open election in America. “Nothing has changed,” says Mike Smith, an administrator for the page.
“Nothing has changed.” He was reassuring while reminding that everything has changed. “In 2008 we didn’t have Facebook. I can join groups from every college in Iowa, every precinct leader, every county leader – they are my friends now on Facebook.”
Smith explained that he doesn’t understand the ‘manipulation’ of statements of secret locations of tallying the votes. He insists that everyone on the precinct and county level are on the up and up and fair. Sending the results to the State level? Well, that is where it gets a little fuzzy yet Smith breaks it down with wisps of a Texas drawl.
“Lemme tell’ya something,” while touching on the tally process, “Watch the Vote will be at the county level when they tally the caucus results. You understand the difference between a caucus and a primary, right?”
Apparently, we don’t.
“When the county leader calls the numbers in to the State we’re just taking a picture with a camera phone and putting the images on the Internet and asking politely why they can’t just put the results front-page real time. With Iowa being so free and open we can see the tallies from each county. We will take a picture from each tally to make sure that the vote count is correct.”
In 2008 Watch The Vote was told to go home. State leaders reassured they were going to give the proof they demanded, such as carbon copies of the official tallies. They were denied. That is why in 2012 they are making sure the ground game is ready.
“They call the numbers in by phone to a computer. It must be a land-line touchtone phone and they enter the results. There is no physical paper driving to a secret location. Each county leader will call the numbers in on a land line.”
This is where the fraud comes into play, WTV maintains. They were able to point out that each of the 99-leaders was not talking to another human. They enter the code into the phone. “Maybe we should be asking where this computer software that counts the votes came from.” So we did. “Kid’ya not they testified about this in 2000 and there are connections to Israel and the State Department.”
Mike has a solution, too. Every state has a county leader, a Supervisor of Elections. The county leaders decide on how the voting process takes place in those counties. “Keep a close eye on your supervisor of elections,” Watch The Vote will have its own independent Supervisor of Elections for each actual Supervisor of Elections.
“At 7:01pm in 2008 the main-stream-media was already giving out the numbers. The media was already projecting and pourin’ out numbers before we could even use a calculator to add ‘em up ourselves”
Watch The Vote along with most of America is set for January 3rd. “We’re ready for tomorrow,” We asked if he had a prediction and Mike did, “When you’re talking to people in Iowa and you ask ‘em “What do ya see?” Do ya see any Romney stickers do ya see any Bachmann flags? Heck no. All you see is Ron Paul everywhere.”
“If the establishment gets its way Romney will win by half a percent.”
What about Ron Paul?
“Ron Paul in a landslide if there’s no fraud.”
