All winter long it can be heard… “Where is the snow?” We have had a very dry winter here in Pleasant Grove with very little rain and very little snow. Oddly, it has felt either like fall with blustery winds or felt like spring with warm temperatures and a slight breeze. During this winter it has felt nothing like winter at all until today. Here it is the last week of February. The day before Leap Day, days before March, weeks before the first day of spring and now it feels like winter.
People complain about the hassles of snow. However, snow brings revenue to those who count on it during the winter season, think snow removal and ski resorts. Snow brings joy to children, and even some adults. Even if you do not care for the wet and the cold who can resist making snowmen, snow angels, or a good old fashion snow ball fight? The fun continues after playing outside when you come in, dry off, warm up and indulge in some hearty beef stew or some comforting hot cocoa.
Go ahead and enjoy it while you can. Who knows if today is the first day or the last day of winter? Seize the opportunity for some family fun. Make the kids go play outside.
