March is just around the corner and with it the happiest season of the year, spring. Spring is the season of renewal and rebirth, a season for Mother Nature to express itself in the most creative ways. The landscape becomes a palette full of different and amazing colors, and the air, which gets not too cold and not too hot, full of delicious odors, creating, together, the perfect ambiance to fall in love with your significant other all over again. And not only Gainesville, but the entire state of Florida, is getting ready to receive the beauties of the spring season and become, as always, one of the best places in United States to fall in love with your better half all over again. Here are some tips to help you plan a great spring break escape with your loved one.
From March 1st to March 11th, Plant City, Florida, will be hosting the Florida Strawberry Festival, a free family friendly oriented entertainment with fresh strawberries, arts, crafts, exhibitors and great headline entertainment. From March 2nd to March 6th, Panama City, Florida, will be hosting their 14th Annual Thunder Beach Spring Motorcycle Rally with over 200 vendors and exhibitors, free live entertainment and contests across the beach, activities such a Bike Parade, Beauty Pageants, Poker Runs, Motorcycle Stunt Shows, Tattoo Contests, Bike Shows with category judging, and much more, and no gates, no admission fees and free parking. On March 3rd, Miami, Florida and the Bob Marley Movement will host their 19th Annual 9 Mile Music Festival, an all day music festival with international food, arts and crafts marketplace. On that same day Palmetto, Florida, will be celebrating a Smoke On The River family fun day with rodeo, Great Food and Music, a BBQ Cook-off, a Classic Car Show, Diesel Truck Show and Lawn Tractor Pulls. From March 3rd to March 4th, The Mixon Fruit Farms in Bradenton, Florida, will be celebrating their Orange Blossom Festival, with free admission and parking and with Crafters, live entertainment, lots of activities for the kids, and great food. On March 4th you can also decide to stay local and enjoy of the a great basketball game at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center at 12:00pm between University of Florida Gators Mens Basketball and Kentucky Wildcats Mens Basketball.
From March 9th to March 10th, Englewood, Florida, will be hosting their 3rd Annual Englewood Music Festival with non-stop music for two days with Glenn Leonard, FL Blues Brothers, a lot of vendors, and great food and fun for all ages. On March 10th, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, will celebrate their annual Ft. Lauderdale St. Patrick’s Parade with decorative floats, live music and entertainment, a kids zone, exhibitors, games and contests, and Irish food and beverages. From March 16th to March 17th, Bonifay, Florida, will be celebrating their annual Bonifay’s Down Home Street Festival with arts and crafts, a Kid’s Corner, a Bull Jam, a car show, a 5K run, and a Blackeye Pea and Cornbread Samplin. From March 16th to March 18th, St. Augustine, Florida, will be celebrating their 31st Annual Lions Seafood Festival. Also from March 17th to March 18th, Miami Gardens, Florida, will be celebrating their 7th Annual Jazz in the Gardens with Jazz and R&B music, Vendor tents, food, games and activities for the entire family. On March 17th, Cape Coral, Florida, will be hosting their Seafood Festival & Car Show with Arts and Craft Vendors, Live Entertainment, a car and bike show and fun for the whole family, completely free. And also on that day, Lynn Haven, Florida will be celebrating their 1st Annual Country Music Festival with top country music stars, entertainment all day, pony rides, mechanical bull, line dancing, food and craft vendors.
From the Spring Equinox in March 20th to Earth Day in April 22nd Gainesville, Florida, will be hosting PRIMAVERA 2012 to celebrate how spring gets into North Florida in a month-long celebration of culture and nature centered in Gainesville at the height of North Florida’s spring season. From March 23rd to March 25th, Oldsmar, Florida, will be celebrating their Oldsmar Days and Nights with Classic Rock, Classic Cars, vendors and a carnival. From March 24th to March 25th, Punta Gorda, Florida, will be hosting the Florida International Air Show with high-speed military jets and acrobatic performers along with aircraft exhibits and displays, a kids’ area and refreshments. On March 24th, Fort Pierce, Florida, will be celebrating their 2nd Annual Taste of the Sea Seafood Festival in the sun with lots of fun and music, with various artists on display, art and a Free Kidzone area. On March 25th, Sarasota, Florida, and the Macrae Family Foundation will be celebrating their 17th Annual Giving Hunger The Blues with live bands on 2 stages, games, food, beverages, raffle, kids activities and more. From March 30th to March 31st, Lake City Florida, will be hosting their Maddfest Spring Arts Festival with music, art, drama, dance, local & attracted entertainment, arts and crafts vendors and exhibitors and food vendors. From March 30th to April 1st, St. Petersburg, Florida, will be hosting the 9th Annual Festivals of Speed, a gathering of the world’s finest and most exotic new and vintage automobiles, motorcycles & watercraft placed for display. March 31st will be a very busy day all around Florida. From March 31st to April 1st, Sarasota, Florida, will be celebrating their Sarasota Nautical Flea Market & Seafood Festival with a Nautical Flea Market, fishing and boating supplies and equipment, seafood and live music. Also from March 31st to April 1st, Jupiter, Florida, will be celebrating their Jupiter Seafood Festival, a nautical extravaganza filled with local seafood, nautical vendors, live entertainment and kids’ activities. And on March 31st, Reddick, Florida, will be celebrating their 1st Annual Reddick BBQ Festival with live music, vendors, artisans, and a bbq competition; Tallahassee, Florida, will be celebrating their Springtime Tallahassee with a parade, arts & craft vendors, a food court, a children’s park, a seafood festival, live regional entertainment and a beer garden; and Tampa, Florida, will be celebrating their Cigar City Criterium & Street Festival with family biking, a pro bike race and a festival of cigars.
