With so much controversy in the world today over religious ideologies and beliefs or unbelief’s, many people squander about with confusion to who Jesus truly is which is deeply saddening.
Jesus is the greatest person who ever walked the earth. Not only did He become a mortal man for a season, but He was and is the Son of the Living God – Jehovah. God loves you so much He could not stand the thought of being without you. That is why “God loved the world this way: He gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life.” (GWT, John 3:16)
Fills the Thirsty Soul
Jesus said in Revelation 21:6, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.” (NIV) If you hunger, He fills you; thirst, He fills you. Take one drink, and you will never be thirsty again. For, Jesus IS that which He is, and He is your thirst quencher! He continually fills you, so the refills are free!
Never Leaves You
When you welcome Jesus into your life, He is your greatest friend who sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24) God loves you so much He says, “I have engraved you upon the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.” (Isaiah 49:16) He is always there for you. He never leaves you and never will . . . You are the greatest treasure to the Father’s beautiful heart. He holds you near and dear, and your ways are continually before Him (Isaiah 49:16).
The Lamb of God
Jesus came to die for you. As a lamb goes before the sheers, so was Jesus when He WILLINGLY went to the cross allowing the Pharisees to crucify Him. “He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.” (Isaiah 53:7)
He died for you and me. He is “. . . the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29) When He was beaten, bruised, spit on, poked, ridiculed, mocked, persecuted and reviled, He was silent, because it was His indescribable and unconditional love for you and me that caused Jesus to die on the cross.
You see, Jesus loves you and me so much that He could not see anything else other than saving us. It was His love for us that caused Him to be the Ultimate and Great Sacrifice to become the Great Intercessor and propitiation for us. “Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13)
Jesus is our comfort. If you feel lost, alone, desolate and dry, broken and abandoned, He reaches out to comfort you. His comfort is there for you.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.” (2 Corinthians 1:3-5)
Do you need an answer? Do you need to know what to do or how to handle the problem in the situation you are in? Maybe you are struggling in your marital relationship or with your children, finances, physical condition the doctors cannot determine; or perhaps, you merely need direction for the change you are sensing. You will find the answer in Jesus and His Holy Spirit Who is the Great Counselor.
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.” (John 16:13-15)
Your Heavenly Father could not bear you struggling and not having someone to save you, so He became the sacrifice and mediator for you. He died, so you could be free, but it is painful to know that many people cannot receive His love, forgiveness and healing, because the enemy of their souls has deceived them into believing they are not worthy. Yet, that is for another post. This one is about Jesus, and Him alone.
Let me ask you a question. Have you ever been in a situation that left you lifeless, cold, empty and without hope? I have. Have you ever felt all of a sudden a warmth touch your body then peace comes out of nowhere, as you begin to feel everything is going to be alright? You have been touched by the Master and Savior, Jesus – He is that which He is, and there is NO one like Him – NONE!
“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:5-6)
Words could never describe how wonderful Jesus is and His beautiful heart for us. He is the Savior of the world, and He IS the invincible, mighty God who is the author and finisher of our faith who endured the cross for you and me (Hebrews 12:2). He performs the impossible for us and makes all things work for our good.
Oh, I pray that you would “taste and see that the Lord is good.” (Psalm 34:8)
