Baltimore, Maryland, is in the middle of its winter season. While the temperatures continue to hover around mild spring or fall-like temperatures, there are definite signs that winter is here. For example, there have been a few snow flurries seen; and, last week there was a small snow accumulation. The weather, however, has not stopped local environmental groups from meeting, brainstorming, and formulating their 2012 activities schedule.
Now is the time for local residents to visit with the local groups to see when, where and how they can get involved throughout the year. Now is a great time to make a commitment to attend a spring clean-up, to help organize a summer round-up throughout your neighborhood, or to formulate how your local environmental group can partner with your local community association to schedule an awareness campaign coupled with shoreline restitution projects. Yes, winter is the time to stay active in the planning process and to join your local environmental group.
