Details have now been revealed about the PepsiCo-sponsored event with several “X Factor” U.S. stars that takes place the weekend of January 28, 2012, in Orlando, Florida.
As previously reported, “The X Factor” U.S. judge Paula Abdul is hosting the invitation-only event, which features performances by former “X Factor” U.S. contestants Josh Krajcik, Rachel Crow and Stacy Francis.
Krajcik came in second place on “The X Factor” U.S. in 2011.
Crow came in fifth place on “The X Factor” U.S. in 2011.
Francis came in 10th place on “The X Factor” U.S. in 2011.
In a Ustream chat on January 28, 2012, Francis said that the event in Orlando is for PepsiCo employees, and it will be held on January 28 and January 29, 2012. Employees from different divisions of PepsiCo will attend each night.
Pepsi (a division of PepsiCo) is one of the main sponsors of “The X Factor” U.S.
The lineup for each night is as follows:
January 28: Francis and Crow will perform. Abdul will host.
January 29: Francis, Crow and Krajcik will perform. Abdul will host.
The event is not expected to be televised.
Francis described the venue where they are performing at Hard Rock Live as “beautiful” with the interior decorated in white.
Francis had previously announced in a Twitter message that she is performing Aretha Franklin’s “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” and Prince’s “Purple Rain.”
Crow, who was in the background during the Ustream chat, said that she is performing Beyoncé’s “If I Were a Boy” and Duffy’s “Mercy.”
Francis and Crow sang these songs on “The X Factor” U.S. when they were contestants on the show.
“(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” was Francis’ “X Factor” audition song in front of the judges. Francis sang “Purple Rain” during the “judges’ homes” phase of the competition.
“Mercy” was Crow’s “X Factor” audition song in front of the judges. Crow sang “If I Were a Boy” during the “boot camp” phase of the competition.
It has not been revealed what songs Krajcik will sing, but it is very likely that he will perform Etta James’ “At Last,” since he did the song at his “X Factor” audition and on the show’s 2011 season finale.
In other news about Francis, she said on Twitter that she has been offered a movie role. When someone asked for more information about it in her Ustream chat on January 28, Francis replied that the movie was not a musical and that she would have a non-singing acting role in the movie. She declined to give further details.
