It’s currently sports week on Live with Kelly and ABC announced this afternoon another themed follow-up. Kim Kardashian has been tapped to kick off All Women Week on Live, which airs the week of January 23rd-27th.
Kim Kardashian is more popular than ever, despite her highly televised TV wedding and subsequent divorce filing after just 72 days of wedded bliss. She took home a People’s Choice Award last night for Favorite TV Celebrity Star, beating out Gene Simmons, Giuliana Rancic, Kathy Griffin, and Tia and Tamera Mowry. Kim is currently starring in Kourtney & Kim Take New York where her marital troubles play out each Sunday night on E!.
The middle Kardashian sister (Kourtney is older and Khloe is younger) is all set to sit in Kelly Ripa’s co-host chair on Monday, January 23rd. The scheduled guest that day is Kevin McHale from Glee. In addition, Kim Kardashian will update viewers on the new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Plus, look for a remark from Kim about the recent rumors about sister Khloe. Kim said just today, “Khloe dad rumors are ridiculously false.”
About Live with Kelly:
Live with Kelly is a morning chat show. Host Kelly Ripa welcomes guests to the stage for short interviews and, in the case of musical artists, a performance. What makes the show unique is the banter between its hosts. Regis Philbin’s original co-host was Kathie Lee Gifford, who left the show in 2000, after which the producers went on an extended search for her replacement. Kelly Ripa, a former soap actress, got the job and started in February 2001. Live has consistently been rated among the top syndicated daytime talk shows in the US. On January 18, 2011, Regis Philbin announced his departure from Live with Regis and Kelly. His last show was on Friday, November 18th. The search for a new co-host for Kelly Ripa began on November 21st.
The new working title of the show is LIVE! with Kelly. It is executive-produced by Michael Gelman and is distributed in national syndication by Disney-ABC Domestic Television. Produced by WABC-TV in New York, LIVE! airs in more than 200 markets across the U.S.
