There is certainly going to be excitement in the air if things go as planned and Lance Armstrong makes his second appearance as a pro triathlete in the Hermann Memorial Ironman Texas 70.3 on April Fool’s Day April 1, 2012.
If he had doubters as far as his triathlon ability he certainly made believers of them with his exceptional performance in the Ironman Panama 70.3.
Lance Armstrong came very close to winning his first race as a pro and it took an Olympic caliber triathlete to finally run him down.
In that first race for Lance there were many unanswered questions then the starting gun went off.
Would Lance be able to hold his own in the swim?
Would he forge to the front in the bike and blow away the field?
What sort of run would he have coming off the bike? This was perhaps the greatest unknown as Lance was a competitive swimmer for many years before taking on the best cyclists in the world in the Tour.
However, nobody really knew how he would hold up in the run. I’m sure it amazed many triathlon fans around the world when Lance stormed to the lead and for the longest time looked like he would steal the victory.
