Dust off your glove, lace up your spikes and let’s go to the ballgame! Well, metaphorically speaking of course. Everyone’s favorite baseball game is back for another year of hits, strikeouts and plain ol’ fashion baseball.
Releasing next week, San Diego Studios and Sony Computer Entertainment has brought us another season of simply the best baseball game on the market and with the intergration of the PS Vita for on the go saves and play you’ll be sure to not miss a beat no matter where your travels take you.
MLB 12: The Show offers the true to life experience of the Major Leagues that no other game can rival. Compounded with true to life visuals of the 30 venues and player attributes, with the Move system, you can fill the shoes of your favorite major leaguer and swing for the fences – if you hit the sweet spot of course – or strike out your least favorite major leaguer with true motion pitching. Just make sure to hold on to the remote. Analog and button-assigned pitching and hitting still remain a great alternative for game play if the Move is not your style.
What differentiates this year’s title from the others is the “True Broadcast Presentation” which seamlessly transitions the broadcast in the game; it’s as if you’re watching an actual live broadcast.
The Multi-Player options lets you showcase your skills online with your buddies or be the laughing stock of your crew; so make sure you practice. What’s new this year is the “Diamond Dynasty” mode where you compete online with other players and your team’s success relies on your player skill set and how you manage the game. You can compete with a custom team of MLB players or you can activate what are called “dynasty cards” used to get your player to peak performance. The Playstation store will also offer dynasty credits that you can purchase and use to improve your player.
With all the threats of rising gas prices this may be a great solution to getting a slice of America’s pastime for those days where your favorite team is not playing on TV. Who knows, you may even take your team to the promise land!
