All across Massachusetts, Lions Clubs members are preparing for spring. As a rule of thumb, this is a very busy time for all members. Not only will clubs be preparing for new fundraising and service projects, but they will also be preparing for annual elections of new officers and their annual convention. Here are some of the things that will be upcoming this spring.
Holliston Lions Club
The Holliston Lions Club is preparing for their $10,000 raffle. The club will sell a maximum of 300 tickets at a price of $100 each. Those who enter the raffle will be invited to attend the event at Medway VFW on March 10, 2012. Dinner will be served and additional winning opportunities will be available.
Belmont Lions Club
The Belmont Lions Club will also be holding a $10,000 raffle. For the last 15 years the Belmont Lions have run this very successful event. Tickets for this event have been sold out and have helped Belmont donate over $5,000 to date this year to Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Inc.
Walpole Lions Club
The Walpole Lions Club will be hosting a Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament on March 3, 2012. The event will be held at Raffael’s, 1601 Main Street, Walpole MA. Tickets are $100 each.
Norfolk Lions Club
On March 10, 2012, the Norfolk Lions Club will host their 5th Annual Chili Fest. All proceeds from this event benefit the Norfolk Food Pantry. This year, seven local restaurants are competing for the best chili award. The event starts at 6:00 pm at St Jude’s Church, Norfolk.
Medway Lions Club
On Saturday, March 18th from 1pm to 4pm, the Medway Lions Club will host their annual Father & Daughter Dance. This is an incredibly fun event for dads and their daughters as well as grandfather’s and their grand-daughter’s. Price is $7.00 payable at the door. Photographs are taken to commemorate the event, which typically includes games and light refreshments. All girls over the age of 3 are invited to participate. The event will be held at Medway High School.
Millis Lions Club
St. Thomas Hall, 974 Main Street, Millis will be the host for the Millis Lions Club Warren Jordan Scholarship Silent Auction which raises funds for scholarships for Millis students who wish to attend college. A fun and entertaining event for everyone that goes to provide much needed relief for college-bound students.
These are just a few of the events that District 33K Lions will be engaging in during the month of March. If you are able to attend any of these events you are encouraged to help support the Lions in their quest to help make the lives of those in their communities easier.
