WAYNESBURG, Pa. – It is believed that a Beagle may have been romping around happily and chasing a little critter when it unsuspectingly fell into a 10-foot deep, unused cistern under a home in PA.
The homeowners who have lived there for years, had no idea this cistern was even located under their property. It was covered by old boarding under the porch of the home.
For about four days, neighbors heard a continous faint barking somewhere in the area. On Monday, they finally located the source and immediately contacted the Greene County Humane Society about their findings.
A happy ending leads to the rescue of this dog to which it has now been brought to safety.
The continued efforts of the neighbors saved the life of a trapped, hungry and frightened dog.
