TAMPA – Tampa music promoter and entreprenuer, Christian “Chris Kay” Kabamba, reveals his new management company (Sellect Entertainment Marketing and Management Group) or SEMMG. Mr. Kay also acknowledges his musical secret weapon, Yung Majik. An artist we will further review later. Let us first look at Mr. Kay and his Tampa business endeavors.
For the past four years Chris Kay has brought national talent to Tampa, names such as Trina, Miguel, Floyd Mayweather, Tank, Cedric the Entertainer, Fat Joe, Briscoe, and Travis Porter. Mr. Kay has promotion collaborations with Tampa clubs such as The Kennedy, Whiskey North, Aja, and Hyde Park Cafe’. Once establishing a reputable venue of the Tampa music scene, Mr. Kay decided to develop and promote up and coming artists.
Currently, Mr. Kay promotes K’Chinga, Shadia Zaher and Yung Majik. all African artists and Yung Majik who has Congo and Zambian roots as Chris Kay.
Although Shadia is relatively fresh, K’Chinga is well known and established throughout Zambia. He was the original host for Yzone, a popular youth television show.
Now, let us review Yung Majik or Emanuel M. Kabamba.
Emmanuel M. Kabamba better know by his stage name Yung Majik is a talented rapper, songwriter and performer. He started his rapping career in 2006 when he recorded his first tracks with a local rap crew from his neighborhood In Ndola.
He went on and released the recorded 5 tracks mix-tape around his neighborhood, city and school under the name of Doh Staks; this was just a period that earned him a significant deal of encouragement and recognition from family, friends and, other artistes.
Years later in 2009, with a new stage name, and a craze for making great music, Yung Majik got back into the studio to polish up his craft. He continued to develop as a rapper and Songwriter by working with some of Zambian’s biggest Musical names such as Macky 2, Yellowman, Uniq, Baska baska, and many others.
Over the next year his talent as a rapper and Songwriter became evident and it resulted in Majik being prominently featured alongside some of the biggest Artistes in Zambia’s Music Industry.
2010 would show to be Yung Majik’s break-out year, as his collaboration with Macky 2 and Yellowman on “Bwela” produced by Macky 2 which drew major attention to his distinct rapping style and great songwriting abilities for he wrote the hook of the track. He went on to feature Kachinga on a Congolese rumba and coupe decale type of song called “dance”. In the same year he also got signed to Legal Alien which is a Label under Sellect Entertainment.
In 2011, this extremely talented and charming young man had already achieved so much, thanks to his drive and focus for turning his life‟s experiences into incredible music.
In 2011, he released his first single “Hold me Fienta” featuring Nazyo produced by Cream Dolla of Touchdown Alpha Entertainment Production. Then he followed that with “Party Hard” produced by Jerry Fingers, one of Zambia’s acclaimed producers which earned him great recognition and attention. Later the same year he also released “She Got It” produced by Cash Roll of So’ Good Entertainment
