Six-year-old pageant princess MaKenzie Myers is making her triumphant return to Toddlers & Tiaras on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 10 p.m. EST. The pint-sized prima donna has developed a lumberjack-sized ego thanks in part to the fame and publicity brought on by the TLC series. In a sneak peek of the upcoming episode, when Myers declares “I’m famous,” it isn’t cute; it’s obnoxious.
According to People magazine: “Alongside her mother, Juana – and a kitten with some terrible luck – MaKenzie steps back into the spotlight, this time, minus her Ni-Ni (a.k.a. her pacifier, which she relied on way past toddlerhood on the show).”
No one outside the world of child beauty pageants could possibly condone the behavior of these over-the-top parents who dress their minor children in inappropriate outfits and garish makeup. The adults act like children, and the children dress like adults. It’s outrageous, but it sure makes for good television, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Are MaKenzie Myers and her Toddlers & Tiaras co-stars being deprived of a normal childhood? Your comments are welcome.
