According to a January 19, 2012 report, a 37-year-old man experienced a very strange sight surrounding a streetlamp near Lake Ontario in Ontario, Canada that cannot be explained. Strong winds were blowing in his local area, so he decided to drive to Lake Ontario to observe the waves crashing on the shore. It was there that he discovered a street lamp that was emitting strange sounds and mysterious bursts of light. However, the strange sounds he experienced were nothing like the sounds associated with some recent UFO sightings.
According to a report on YouTube, the winds were coming from the south at a speed of approximately 100 kilometers per hour and there was a warm air front meeting an Arctic air front resulting in a rapid decrease in temperature on that evening. The witness described his actions leading up to the unusual experience:
“I decided to go down to the Lake [Ontario] and check out what was going on. First I wanted to catch the waves coming in of the lake and I also wanted to capture the sound they were making. Upon arriving their [sic], I set the camera up in the front window and turn [sic] the high beams on. To me the waves weren’t that impressive. I decided to get out of my car and walk around this is when I realised the sound was being created just by the wind alone. I decided to pan around and show the trees that were bending in the wind. But it was to [sic] dark to see the trees so I panned the camera around to see if there was anywhere else I could see something. bending or blowing in the wind. This is when I captured on video the weirdest thing I ever seen.”
He does not deny that the object he filmed was nothing more than an ordinary streetlight. However, the aura of blazing light and strange sounds emanating from the light were anything but ordinary. He recorded the local streets and streetlights in the surrounding area and none of those other lights behaved out of the ordinary.

Several people who have viewed the video commented that the effect was due to the man’s camera or the glass of his windshield. The problem with those theories is that none of the other streetlights he recorded demonstrate the same shooting crackling lights or strange sounds. What do you think? Is there a paranormal explanation for this unexplained phenomenon? Your comments are welcome.
