Monco Enterprises’ Pets & People pet treats are locally made pet treats which are sold in a variety of locations around the greater Dayton area, including the 2nd Street Market, Cub Foods, Dorothy Lane Markets, Lofinos, Siebenthaler Garden Center, SICSA, Arrow Wine, Silver Spur, Wind Mill Farm Market, Dots Market, Daytona Mills, the Animal Resource Center, and the Humane Society of Greater Dayton. The dog biscuits are sold in Kentucky, Illinois and Tennessee as well!
These tasty treats are created with care by people with disabilities; the production of these pet biscuits creates meaningful work opportunities for these individuals. Pets & People biscuits are made at an activity center in Dayton and provide income to a group of adults who possess a variety of skills and a range of abilities. The group as a whole, works together to mix dough, cut out treats and bake them and carefully packages each batch. Many of these artisans are pet lovers who take great satisfaction and pride knowing that they have created a nourishing, natural treat that dogs (and some small herbivores) love.
By purchasing these treats, you not only provide snacks and treats for your own pet, but you support a local company that provides employment for people with disabilities. The treats come in three flavors: chicken, beef, and cheese, and rabbits and other herbivores often like tiny bits of the cheese flavored, crunchy treats.
Your dog could be a star!
Monco is currently running a ‘cutest dog’ contest! The contest runs until March 7, 2012, and the winner gets a CASE of Pets & People Dog Treats! You can enter your own dog, a granddog or a friend’s dog…and wouldn’t it be fun to surprise them with their winning case of goodies?
The contest page has more details and instructions on posting your photos, or you can go to the Monco Pets & People page here. Photos will be voted on by the staff at Pets & People. The winner will be featured at Monco Pets & People and will also receive a free case of Pets & People dog treats in the flavor of your choice!
