For a select few days in March, the Broadway musical Monty Python’s Spamalot will be playing at the Warner Theater in D.C.
Spamalot is actually a relatively new musical that was lovingly ripped off of the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It has been hailed a smash hit by the New Yorker. The cast features everything from cows to beautiful girls, to killer rabbits. The show was created by Eric Idle and John du Prez, who have been co-creators for 30 years! They began collaborating on The Life of Brian, whote several songs together for The Meaning of Life, and the best selling Monty Python CD.
The main cast is also quite impressive. The Lady of the Lake is being played by Brittany Woodrow, who has studied and performed abroad in Europe and the Middle East. She has been in FAME, HAIR, and Thriller Live. Sir Lancelot, played by Adam Grabau, is a native resident of the Maryland/DC area and he has been featured in Oklahoma, Beauty and the Beast, and Les Mis. Last but certainly not least, King Arthur is being played by Arthur Rowan. He is a past choreographer, actor and director for the Pennsylvania Rennaissance Fair and a graduate of the College of William and Mary. There are many other cast members and ensemble members and they all have quite the love of performing.
The show should be interesting to see. I personally have tickets for March 18th at the Warner Theater and I am counting the days until I can see the show. I will keep my audience posted with details to come!
