Mike and Adelle Elder love to encourage their family to participate after extracurricular activities. The one activity that all of their children love is soccer. Mike thought of using his family recipe for Italian Ices as a fundraiser for their children’s teams. It got to be so popular that in 2006, it planted an idea in Mike’s head to start his own business and expand the flavors of this delicious concoction. The result is premium, authentic, Sicilian Italian Ice. Since then, Mike has expanded his palate to 120 different flavors. His Italian Ices are carried in restaurants around California and independent vendors across the country. In June 2011, Mustache Mike’s hit the gourmet food truck road dispensing their luscious delights to hungry foodies. It always hits the spot whether it’s hot or cold outside.
If you’ve never had Mustache Mike’s before, it is non-dairy, naturally fat-free, gluten-free, cholesterol-free, and even Kosher. His recipe is amazing! It tastes so creamy, but there is no dairy. Let’s take a look at some of his flavors:
Bada Boom Blue Razz™ is uber raspberry! Texture is smooth, creamy, and velvety, like a gelato. Love it! Thumbs up, way up!
Manic Mango is outrageous! Imagine just scooping out the mango flesh right from the skin. It tastes exactly like the fruit. The creamy, fine texture makes it more so. I just find it amazing how Mike is able to make these flavors come to life. It seems so simple, yet it’s so complex! Thumbs up, way up!
50-50 Grind™ is exactly like the Orange 50-50 popsicles that you remember as a kid. The orange-colored part is packed full of orange flavor and the white tastes just like vanilla ice cream. Perfect combination! Thumbs up, way up!
Juicy Rancher™ is a combination of Watermelon, Lemon Squeezy, and Sour Green Apple. It tastes exactly like the candy, but you won’t mind having all three flavors in your mouth at the same time. It reminds me of summer in a cup! Thumbs up!
Da Bomb™ is a combination of Bada Bing Cherry™, Bada Boom Blue Razz™, and Lemon Squeezy. This flavor combination really is da bomb! Wonder how it got its name? The cherry, raspberry, and lemon work really great together. The only way I can equate it is a cherry, raspberry, lemon combination shaved ice with ice cream. It’s soft, but even finer than shaved ice. The flavors are perfectly marbled so you get full-punch of flavor with every bite. I can’t stop eating it, even when it’s cold and rainy outside. Thumbs up, way up!
