It doesn’t seem like long ago that brothers Bear and Bo Rinehart of NEEDTOBREATHE had made the drive up from South Carolina to do a show at Amos’ Southend in March of 2008 with the groups AbsentStar and I-Nine, but alas it’s been a long and fruitful road for these guys. A road which has led to critical acclaim of their talents, passion and artistry.
That night was prior to the 2009 release of “Outsiders” which defined them as a national rock band worthy of the price of admission. With Seth Bolt on bass and drummer Joe Stillwell the ceaseless touring built a fan base that transformed into Outsiders hitting no. 9 on the Billboard Rock Album chart and edging into the top 20 of the top 200. They’ve sold out some of the largest music venues in the country, including the House of Blues in Chicago as well as being featured in large production films and prime time television shows.
After all of this success, musically and commercially, the group decided they needed to get back into the studio and put together an album that reflected the road lessons learned by the pastors son’s from Possum Kingdom, South Carolina. Post seven months of recording they are releasing their 4th album titled “The Reckoning”. Americana rock and roll has always defined NEEDTOBREATHE and they have put together an album that reaffirms the definition of who they are and what they believe their muse is all about.
As part of their national tour celebrating this release NEEDTOBREATHE will be performing at Ovens Auditorium Friday, March 2nd. This show is co-promoted by Neighborhood Theatre – one of Charlotte’s premier live music venues located in the heart of NoDa, the historical and cultural neighborhood just north of Uptown Charlotte.
