President Obama made one of the biggest decisions in 2012 in his decision to reject the Keystone XL Pipeline project for moving forward. This issue is about common sense decision making in a time of crisis whether Republican or Democrat. The fact is the Green Energy movement is not happening at the pace promised or expectations to begin a transfer America’s dependence on fossil fuels. The biggest loser of the failure of Green Energy to live up to the expectations to supply clean energy is in job creation. The jobs nor energy production never came to pass, and the reality is that America needs every good paying industrial job for the labor force.
In addition, the Keystone XL Pipeline is not the miracle cure for energy security in America, but the pipeline would be a step in the right direction to supply domestically the oil production needed to bring more stability in price and relative security in meeting our demand for fossil fuels until a real transfer into a cleaner energy is technologically achieved. Obama’s rejection of the permit was a victory to the Green Energy Lobbyist that were rewarded for failing to bring a viable supply of energy and jobs to the marketplace. The losers were the unemployed and the US economy as politics triumph the well-being of the American people.
On Tuesday, President Obama plans to set forth a “blueprint” to rebuild the economy, but rebuilding the economy on political terms of the current administration. Whether Republican or Democrat, ethical and viable options should be allowed on the table to put America back to work, and leave ideology aside for once. An insight into President Obama’s blueprint to rebuild the economy is tourism as stated by the President;
“The more folks who visit America, the more Americans we get back to work”… “It’s that simple.”
The average worker in the oil industry makes around $60k per year, and the average salary of an employee of the tourism industry? The answer is between $17k and $30k per year. President Obama’s decision to deny the permit for the Keystone XL Pipeline has cost any credibility of a viable blueprint being presented at Tuesday’s State of the Union. Tourism should be a economic priority, but not part of an alternative to America’s energy and economic security. Green Energy performance was a short-term failure in producing the energy and jobs as promised, but failure in Washington is sometimes the victory guaranteed. President Obama’s blueprint has already fallen flat in the failed promises of Green and the result is the American worker brought down to its knees.
