OKC: Chihuly exhibition at Oklahoma City Museum of Art
San Francisco world travelers heading to Oklahoma City, who love art, should check out the Chihuly exhibition that is currently taking place at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art.
Every day from January 1, 2012 through April 8, 2012, you can see three decades of Chihuly’s work. It’s nothing short of fabulous.
So what can you expect to find at the Chihuly exhibition?
That would be the Tabac Baskets and several examples of Chihuly’s exploration of the color white. Evident is Chihuly’s great interest in the art and culture of the Native American Indians, revealed in the tiniest details present in the baskets made.
There is also on display a large collection of textiles and trade blankets.
The Chihuly exhibition at the Oklahoma Museum of Art is open from Tues – Sat. 10-5pm and on Sundays from noon-5pm. Adults pay $12 while seniors, students and children (age 6-18) get in free. Military cost is $5.
Address: Oklahoma City Museum of Art, 415 Couch Dr., Oklahoma City, OK 73107, Tel: 236-3100
