At first glance it is the attention to detail and beauty that stand out about the designs of Phairytale beauty. It isn’t until you look a little deeper that each piece has a story and a history. “Phairytale jewelry uses antique, vintage, recycled and repurposed materials.”
Phairytale Designs was the vision of Susie Rekechensky, President and Creator for the company. Susie, a graphic designer by trade, had a desire to become an entrepreneur. And, after a trip to New Orleans, she “became truly inspired and decided it was time for her to tap into a talent that she have held so dear her whole life… making jewelry!” In 2008, Susie took a “leap of faith and went for it” and has been selling to a local following for the past 2 years. Phairytale went public with an online Etsy store and started the local craft fair circuit this past year. Recently, Susie’s husband had the opportunity to take over as CEO of the company, freeing up more of her time, allowing for more inspiration and creativity in the design aspect.
What’s unique about Phairytale Designs, it is the passion, creativity and whimsy that comes through in each piece. Jewelry and fashion have always been a huge part of Susie’s life,”I knew at some point I would be doing something in this field, the passion has always been undeniable. Jewelry is such a personal part of your whole vibe. I feel it is the heartbeat of your wardrobe. I want to empower women to take charge of their personal style. Phairytale gives you the courage to be brave in life and express yourself through accessorizing.” It has been Susie’s philosophy that “all things get better with age, so I embrace the nuances of each piece and the history it carries. I take a little piece of the past and combine it with something shiny and new to create inimitable, one-of-a-kind vintage treasures. Each and every piece of Phairytale is made by hand with love.”
It is that passion that comes through in each and every design. What advice does Susie give to other entrepreneurs, “Dream big and don’t ever falter from that dream. Stick to what you do best and bring strong people into your dream who can help further the cause. Treat people with respect and listen to your clients, their feedback is truly invaluable.”
Moving forward, Phairytale is adding brick and mortar locations sell the designs in addition to the local art fairs and social media tools currently used to promote the company it is wares. The true marketing tool of Phairytale Designs has been to let the unique designs and outstanding customer service bring back and generate new clients.
