Rutland, WI – Deputies made a disturbing discovery on Thursday afternoon – the body of a Chocolate Labrador puppy in a ditch along County Highway A.
The puppy, estimated to be between 3-6 months of age, had not been struck by a car – instead, it appears that he was purposefully suffocated with packing tape.
Investigators found clear packing tape around the puppy’s front and back legs, as well as around his head, muzzle and nose.
Whoever was capable of such cruelty can only be described as depraved.
Someone capable of suffocating an innocent puppy in such a manner clearly has no value for life.
Right now, the Dane County Sheriff’s Department is hoping to identify the person who is responsible for this crime.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact them at their tip line: 608-284-6900.
Rest in peace to this puppy, name unknown.
Note: The puppy featured in the photo which accompanies this story is not the puppy who was killed. This is Todd, a puppy hoping for a home of his own. Please read Todd’s Petfinder profile at this link.
