So many times, discouragement is all we can find. We hope for an end of the things that used to dangle in our minds in such torment of what used to be. It is in those moments when you find yourself caught up in the battle of your mind and struggling to breathe and stay alive. The fight for survival is on.
Fighting to Survive
Fighting to survive means to persevere until you get to the other side of the situation(s). This is in most cases, the most difficult and what seems to be seemingless cruel and unbearable to endure. But, Jesus tells us we must endure the many hardships we will unfortunately face in our life. How .. how .. how do we strive to survive .. how?
Unknown Enemies Beneath Us
It is as though we are in an ocean of water with multiple dangers hidden below us. These dangers will stay hidden and not bother us, until we disturb their territory.
Now, when we engage in spiritual warfare, we are entering into the territory of the enemies we do not see yet and are not made visible to us. But the very moment we begin to challenge their territory, they almost instantly appear with a roaring vengeance. Their goal is to stop us from persevering to the other side, and as we continue we can become battle-worn or “beat up” spiritually becoming tired and fatigued within ourselves, depressed and oppressed, even angry that the situation has not changed yet. Nevertheless, fight! Don’t quit, and don’t give in, for the battle is NOT yours but God’s!!!
Labor – Then Suddenly
Persevere your way all the way to the other side of the warfare to enjoy rest from your labor. We do NOT labor for nothing .. we gain victory from it all! We often feel that we have fought for nothing, as time continues to creep along without a mere sign to the fruit of our labor and hard fight. Then suddenly … then suddenly, there is the brightest of lights that begins to shine in your heart, mind, spirit and body, as the Lord reflects His peace and mercy upon you to show you the fruit is growing! Hallelujah!
Don’t stop and never give up on your fight of faith. I know first-hand from my own life that situations, people and circumstances can leave you lifeless and hold a lingering effect of what used to be in your mind to make it seem and feel as though it is never going to die. BUT … it will, and it does – suddenly!
The Longing Heart Healed
The book of Proverbs tells us in chapter 13 verse 12, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire is fulfilled, it is a tree of life.” (Amplified Bible). This means when there is something that seems to hang on and hang on and hang on and continue to hang on, we begin to lose our hope and grow weary. As we grow weary of praying and believing, we lose heart in the hope that the very things we have asked the Lord to do will ever come into existence. Ahh, but when that suddenly hits our lives, it is an overwhelming tree of abundant life for us that overflows into and through every part of our lives.
Don’t give up .. you are right there! Continue to persevere … til’ you reach the other side!
