When things are going great in the life of a Christian, temptation always seem to show up and rear its ugly head. The very thing that you may fear always seems to come to fruition when trying to live right.
I have conquered so many of my goals this year. I have started my online jewelry store, with my own personal handcraft jewelry pieces. I am days away from publishing my second book, months away from earning my Bachelor’s degree and the list goes on. God has saw fit to bless my family with unity and love and I could not be happier right now. However, just as sure as my name is Darlene, I have been tempted on several occasions. Things have happened to me that would have never happened on an ordinary day.
Men were proposing to me left and right, promising me the moon and the stars. They were saying all the right things to win a woman’s heart, but I know that this is not of God, because I AM MARRIED! God does not bless mess and I know full well he is not sending these men to me. Once upon a time I was a sucker for a man who could talk the talk and walk the walk. If Mr. Feel-good said that right thing, I would be smitten beyond common sense. Now that I am wiser, and definitely more in tuned to the order God has set for my life, I can spot deceit a mile away. I am aware that anything that comes in my life to hurt my family and tear it apart has nothing to do with holiness.
In this day and age the enemy comes from so many angles to try and conquer our lives. The goal of the enemy is to kill, steal, and destroy, and you better believe that he will use anything. It is not sound for a parent to kill their child, or for a child to kill their parent. Our babies can no longer enjoy an after school activity without the fear of being molested, by the one who is supposed to be responsible for them. To further the point, school use to be a place to gain knowledge and experience. Now the grounds are more like battle field for children who are tired of being bullied and pushed around. For all who pray, we need to come together more than ever now.
I find myself calling on the name of Jesus more and more every day. I pray for my daughter before she gets on the school bus. When the clock strikes 8 o’clock and I know that she is entering her class, I send another prayer her way. When I call on the name of Jesus, I am pleased to say, that the devil had to flee from me and my family every time. We have had a couple of close calls, but God has never failed me.
This does not only work for me, it goes for all who believe on His name. Don’t succumb to the foolishness that is set before you. Don’t fall in the trap that is waiting for you to step in it. Do not accept this life for what it is, it’s time to fight for what you believe in. When it appears to be too good to be true, normally it is and that is when you know that you are being put to the test. But you don’t have to fail, just call on the name of JESUS and you shall prevail! Be Blessed
Is 41:13; For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee (KJV).
